My wish to write fiction came true when I became a grandmother and had this idea of creating stories for my grandchildren. In each book, I try to bring in words, drawings and features of that grandson or granddaughter who will be the protagonist. Thus, in the “The mystery of the scratched table“, Julian is a kid full of imagination. In “There’s a clever creature in my back garden“, Luisa is a disciplined and confident girl. In “Frank’s Secret“, the protagonist of the same name is the youngest child who has to negotiate everything with his brothers. In “Bubalino, the flying buffalo“, Isabel is at the same time coauthor and protagonist as she is the one that imagined the story.

The most recent story is “Has anyone seen my dummy?” written for granddaughter Catarina. In this, the protagonist is faced with a common trauma of young children: the moment to drop the dummy. The impact of this project exceeded my initial motivation, because today I have met hundreds of children, who listen and comment on my stories with enthusiasm and affection and who encourage me to continue writing.
